NASA’s Project Constellation

We need to get out of orbit, and, I hope, NASA’s Project Constellation will help us do it. The project includes a new spacecraft, the Orion. Finally, we escape from the Space Shuttle, whose main purpose, it seems, was to kill astronauts. The design goes back to the original Apollo and incorporates designs from the Space Shuttle era and from the Russian Soyuz, the longest-running, most versatile, and safest spacecraft ever. The project also includes plans for missions to the Moon (oh yeah, the Moon) and to Mars. It’s about bloody time.
